In between there were a hundred other terrorist incidents. Did you not watch the news for the ten-year span? You're still in the '80s. What evidence is there that TWA800 was targeted by Libyan terrorists in revenge for the strike in '86?
Nor was the crash dynamic similar to Pan Am 103. In the Pan Am disaster, the wing root and main tanks fell to the ground in one piece. Right onto the houses it destroyed. In the TWA case, the wings were blown apart from the wing root and from the main tanks and everything else.
And if it was a bomb, why would the NTSB say that it was a fuel tank explosion? Where's the motive for the cover-up?
Only the missile theory requires a cover-up.
Governments do not accidentally bomb airliners.
But it is very possible that they might accidentally shoot one down.
