Let's pretend you are a terrorist. You are 10-12 miles off the coast of long island, new york on the Atlantic Ocean. You are standing up in a speedboat. The boat rocks up and down on the waves. You have a shoulder fired missile on your shoulder. You aim at the aircraft then decide you want to point the missile tube straight up at a 90 degree angle and fire. Unfortunately, this is NOT how you fire a shoulder fired Stinger missile. You don't have to be a rocket scientist (or air crash investigator) to figure that out. Ask Donaldson if you fire a Stinger missile straight up at a 90 degree angle. See what he says.
