The O'Hara Foundation
The O'Hara Foundation was established as a means to memorialize Jack and Janet O'Hara and their daughter, Caitlin. They were tragically killed in the explosion of TWA 800 on July 17, 1996. They are survived by their two sons, Brian and Matthew.
The O'Hara Foundation is a not-for-profit public foundation, a volunteer management entity whose goal is to keep the O'Hara spirit of giving and caring alive. Three categories have been established to receive funds raised or donated: education, youth and community-related programs.
The main fundraiser is the annual O'Hara Invitational Youth Basketball Tournament, organized in conjunction with the Irvington Parks & Recreation Department, with all proceeds going to the Foundation.
The goal is to make this tournament the biggest, longest-running and most prestigious tournament in the area.
