What was the point of this article? We already know the position of the NTSB with regard to the missile theory.
But it is not one borne from logic:
Dozens of eyewitnesses said they saw a missile.
No eyewitneses said they saw a short-circuit.
And eyewitness testimony is all they have to go on if they found no evidence of a short-cirucit. Which they ruefully admit they have not.
So what is the logic of favoring a theory that has no evidence to back it up, over one that has direct eyewitness evidence
They favor the fuel tank theory, irrespective of evidence, simply because the other theory has political implications far beyond the scope of their little agency.
And they were told from the start, "Don't go there." And they behaved as they were instructed from agencies that are a lot more influential than they.
