Now that Barr's efforts are winding up since the official crash report has become a public document and the "investigation" is now over, I can at least get the satisfaction of knowing that his efforts were a waste of both time and taxpayer’s money.
The NTSB’s final report would have reached the same conclusion with or without him, and corazon.com was a spare tire so far out of alignment that it was a running joke for four years. The conclusion of that NTSB report was written before the 747 sheet metal hit the water that evening. It was only the detailed body of that report that was worked on for 4 years. It was just a question of getting the body of the report to support the conclusion. And it was just a formality to make the report public.
But look at it this way. At least it gave a dumbass a job and something to do in his retirement other than fart and play golf.
But the search for the truth never ends. Truth doesn’t like to be buried. Like a coin in the frosty ground, it pushes up relentlessly toward the surface until it sees the light of day once again.
Many of those eyewitnesses were young men and women. They are going to be around for a long time. And they will never forget what they saw. They are the truth’s vanguard. They are the officialdom of tomorrow.
When the big players in this drama are long dead and buried, their influence evaporated, and their distorted truths left unguarded by the mechanisms of state, those young men and women will open the books on this one again.
And that process will start today.
