For the sake of argument, let's assume that Michael Hull is correct when he stated that the Navy was looking for terrorists prior to the missile shootdown. Why then would they flee the scene rather than helping in recovery/rescue operations?
they realized iranian terrorists were in the area and they ran for their lives! everyone in the navy knows the sheer terror iranians evoke in the heart. they didn't have the capability to handle such tough and mean terrorists so they ran home.
